It was the fall of 2020, and the world was closed. A boutiliscious, brown eyed girl and a charming French boy started chatting on Tinder.

We set a first date and spent the afternoon hanging out on separate benches in Girouard Park for a 'safe social-distanced date'. We ate pizza pizza which became cold quickly. Our hands shivered from the cold, but we giggled and enjoyed our time together. Lieska talked a lot, like I always do:) and Jehan realised his date was quirky, cute, crazy, and very anglaphone.

We both went home and Lieska went straight to gossip with Gus and Tichina. Wondering when the next date will be, would Jehan wait days, weeks? Nope! Jehan was smooth and followed up really quickly. Planning a cute pancake dinner date at his apartment for the next day. Lieska of course made them both get covid tested beforehand (safety first, kids...there was no vaccine). Lieska was indeed shocked and confused by his prompt invite. Gus was smart and said 'What are you going to do if you weren't going on the date? Watching Netflix? That could be any day.'

Jehan made pancakes from scratch and graciously let me bring home the leftovers for my sibling (smart move ;) ), and the rest is history.

C'était l'automne 2020, et le monde était à l'arrêt. Une fille aux yeux bruns et aux courbes généreuses et un charmant garçon français ont commencé à discuter sur Tinder.

On a organisé un premier rendez-vous et on a passé l'après-midi au parc Girouard, assis sur des bancs séparés pour un « rendez-vous avec distanciation sociale ». On a mangé du Pizza Pizza qui a refroidi en un clin d'œil. Nos mains tremblaient de froid, mais on n'arrêtait pas de rigoler et de passer du bon temps ensemble. Lieska parlait beaucoup (comme d'habitude ! :) ) et Jehan a réalisé que sa « date » était décalée, mignonne, un peu folle et très anglophone.

En rentrant, Lieska est allée direct raconter les potins à Gus et Tichina. Elle se demandait quand serait le prochain rendez-vous... Est-ce que Jehan allait attendre des jours, des semaines ? Mais non ! Jehan a géré ça comme un chef et a fait un suivi super rapide. Il a prévu un dîner aux crêpes tout mimi chez lui pour le lendemain. Évidemment, Lieska a exigé qu'ils passent tous les deux un test COVID avant (la sécurité d'abord... il n'y avait pas encore de vaccin). Lieska était d'ailleurs sous le choc et confuse par cette invitation si rapide. Gus, très sage, a dit : « Qu'est-ce que tu ferais si tu n'y allais pas ? Regarder Netflix ? Tu peux faire ça n'importe quel jour. »

Jehan a préparé des crêpes maison et m'a gentiment laissé emporter les restes pour mon frère/ma sœur (bien joué ;) ), et le reste appartient à l'histoire.
